A quick warm up before diving into work.
I had such a blast working on the NancyDrew Dossier series. Go team Candy Mountain and Asian Tripletz! It was such a bummer when funding ran out as we all had great chemistry and were on quite a roll getting that third one out.
Ironically, right after that happened, Resorting to Danger won Yahoo Games Best Hidden Object of 2009. By then, we (the entire Dossier Team) had founded our own game studio and were developing a hawt (read: steamy) hidden-object game in our Producer's parent's basement. #classicstartupcrib
Farewell cards should always involve unicorns, rainbows and sparklies.
Saaaay, didn't i make a similar farewell card like this a year ago? Oh well...
Inspired by my co-worker Julie who began crafting plushy versions of my DreamBox characters as farewell gifts for some departing colleagues, I've also taken up that crafting mantle, creating bye-bye presents for my fav pals who're moving on. These stuffed felt superhero math DBL characters are fun to make but I'm done with making goodbye presents. Next one will be just for fun and for myself.
Just in time for Earth Day at DBL. "Be smooth! Be green!"
Dan, our VP/ChiefArchitect needed some visuals for his presentation at this year's GSV Education Innovation Summit. http://edinnovation.gsvadvisors.com/ The gist of the images below are all about cutting through the ed b-crap and providing a solution that really helps our young students.
Update: DreamBox won the Return On Education STEM Category at the summit. http://edinnovation.gsvadvisors.com/latest-news/ (April 18, 2013)
After making a lot of bright, colorful whimsical art, I just sometimes need to blow off a little steam and be all dark and stuff.
Here's a storyboard sketch. Will post the final video soon...
Marketing shanghaied me for an impromptu Holiday Greeting brainstorm and even though all of us would love to have made a holiday-themed mini-game, we agreed a simple little video would be best. Extra bonus that one of my concepts was chosen. Graphics and animation by yours truly. Turnaround time from concept to final = 4 days.
